Founded in 1938 by Jacques Spreiregen, a Polish-born emigrant to France and then England, Kangol is a profoundly multicultural brand. After World War I, Spreiregen started selling hats and imported Basque berets to England. Initially known within English sports circles, particularly in golf clubs, Kangol produced the headwear range for the Beatles in 1964, marking its entry into the music world.
